This is a blog chronicling my various activities and adventures as I strive to become a successful entrepreneur.

The purpose of this blog are two-fold:

1. To aid me as a budding entrepreneur. As I continue my adventures I will need plenty of help. Some of which I’m hoping will come from you – my readers.
2. To aid others who are like me – budding entrepreneurs who have little or no clue what they are doing and are very nervous about this whole thing.

That said, I hope to add a new post about once a week, and/or at least whenever something interesting or perplexing occurs.

About my Business – VacancyComics.com

 

I’ve always wanted to start a business. My Mom still laughs about my little boxes filled with something I was pretending to sell. Now in my mid-twenties, I have one. Yippee!

VacancyComics.com really started in the summer of 2003. I was enjoying doodling in my spare time and I was currently experimenting with various cartoon characters. Someone (I think it was my sister) suggested I try drawing a comic strip. I’ve always enjoyed comics, but I was afraid that I would run out of jokes very quickly (I’m better at making jokes while in the middle of a conversation – but then again, it depends on who you ask). Now I have over 500 comics drawn and I still have a little paper stuffed with ideas for other comics.

Shortly after I began drawing my comics others began suggesting I start a business with them. I’ve never started a business, and I’ve never been the most confident person, so I was rather nervous about the whole idea. Then in the fall of 2006 I took a business class in which I was required to start a business, so I did.
